Hybrid Cards using MDS

Lacy-Lovely-Thank-You-Hibrid Twitterpated-Well-Scripted-Hibrid

I used MDS to print the DSP in these cards.  Of all the DSP sitting around, Twitterpated was not one of them.  So here’s where MDS came in really handy.  For the first card, I also used my stampin’ around wheel, Bella’s Border.  I love using the around wheels to make my own patterned paper.  When using the around wheels to decorate paper for a card, I don’t even have to have an ink cartridge, I simply ink up my wheel on the ink pads and use the around guides to make straight lines.

Supplies:

  • Stamps:  Lacy & Lovely, Perfectly Penned
  • Ink:  Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette
  • Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Twitterpated DSP (MDS)
  • Accessories:  Apothecary Accents Framelits, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, punches, brads, pearls, and ribbon.

OSW 6×6 Sarah DSP

When I have card designer block it’s a good time to turn to a one sheet wonder.  I have a lot of retired designer series paper I need to use.  I love this pattern that I made to use with note cards.  These sets make a great gift too.

OSW6x6-Sarah DSP-2 OSW6x6-Sarah DSP

Supplies:

  • Paper:  Sarah DSP (retired), Brocade Blue (retired), So Saffron
  • Stamp Sets:  Curly Cute, Oval All, Pretty Petites, A Round Array, Teeny Tiny Wishes, A Fitting Occasion
  • Accessories:  Punches, Ribbon, Brads, Edgelits

To make the tote for the note cards, cut a piece of cardstock to 10 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, save the 3/4″ strip to use as the handle.  Score 4″ on each short side, and 1 1/2″ on each long side.  Use paper snips and cut from where the 1 1/2″ and 4″ cut intersect (4 cuts).  Use sticky strip and fold the tote up. Hope all this makes sense.

Just Delightful Simply Scrappin Kit

With the announcement of the color refresh, I wanted to use some of the retiring colors.  I still have plenty of the Just Delightful Simply Scrappin kit that was a SAB option several years ago.  I just love this kit – and it’s perfect for spring time.  I was able to quickly make several cards and still have a lot of the kit left.

Supplies:

  • Cardstock:  So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Cameo Coral (retired), Certainly Celery, Just Delightful Simply Scrappin Kit
  • Ink:  Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Cameo Coral (retired), Calypso Coral

Just-Delightful-Secret-Gard

For these cards I thought the new Secret Garden would go great.  I love the framelits that make it so easy to cut the flowers and leaf out.  I embossed the edge of the 2 1/2 x 5.5 bashful blue with the needlepoint border embossing folders (the cross-stitch pattern).  The sentiment if from the Delight in Life stamp set (retired).

Just-Delightful---Joy

Everything on this card is from the scrappin kit except the embossed so saffron piece (4 1/8 x 5 3/8).  I embossed this piece with the fancy fan embossing folder.  The bashful blue piece is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2.  The designer series paper (dsp)  is 1 1/4 x 5.

Just-Delightful-Inspire

This card also uses everything from the kit except the twine and brad.  The dsp is 1 1/4 x 5.  I embossed the certainly celery piece with the fancy fan embossing folder.

Just-Delightful-Birthday-2

This card has a 1″ x 5 1/4 piece of dsp matted with a 1 1/4 x 5 1/4 piece of certainly celery.  The stamp sets used were Lots of Thoughts (retired) and Office Accoutrement (retired).

Just-Delightful-Birthday

These cards use the large scallop edgelit and the coordinating essentials paper-piercing pack.  The flower on the right card is from the retired Simple Flower Embosslit that I snagged off the clearance rack.  The leaves are from the new Secret Garden Set.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Made for You.

Just-Delightful---Thats-the

These cards feature the new That’s the Ticket stamp set and coordinating ticket punch.  The dsp pieces are 1 3/4 x 3 1/2.  The bashful blue piece is 2 1/2 x 3 7/8.  I embossed one with the stripes embossing folder and the other with the square lattice.  The “admit one” ticket is stamped in marina mist on bashful blue paper.

Sweet Birthday

Here are some other cards I created.  These cards both use the retired Sweet designers series paper and green galore cardstock.  These are great cards to have on hand for my daughters friends birthdays.  One of my favorite new products from this years catalog are the new Essentials Paper-Piercing mats.  I used that to do the paper piercing around the Happy Birthday sentiment on the 1st card.  They have also added more of these to match other framelits.

Betty’s Blossoms Birthday

I finally have some time to post some of my recent cards.  I just love the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Betsy’s Blossoms.  The only thing that could be better would be a punch to punch the bird out.  But with paper snips it’s a fairly easy cut.  I cased this card from here.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

We always enjoy seeing all our family for Christmas.  This year wasn’t as “Merry” as my daughter and I both came down with the flu.  Anyway, we are all on the upswing and hopefully no one else will come down with it.  I created our Christmas card using Stampin’ Ups! MDS2.  I love the new software.  I also printed it through Stampin’ Ups! printing service.  I like the quality cardstock it is printed on.  Here it is:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Quint-Essential Flower

It’s been quite a while since my last post. I decided to do another peddler’s booth at my church’s women’s event. So every extra hour I was preparing goodies for it. I had a great time and still have some orders to fulfill, but wanted to share some of my creations.

When I saw the quint-essential stamp in the new catalog, I knew I would love it. It is made much like the triple treat flower – one stamp that coordinates with several punches. Here are some of the cards I made with it.

Supplies:

  • Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
  • Stamps:  Quint-Essential Flower, Happiest Birthday Wishes, Itty Bitty Banners
  • Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo
  • Accessories:  Blossom Petals Builder Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, 2 3/8″ and 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch, 1″ and 1/2″ circle punch, brads, Chevron Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits

Delicate Doilies Birthday

For this card I turned to my color coach under Raspberry Ripple – the sweet set. The color coach is a great tool – it takes the guess-work out of making coordinating and eye-catching color combinations.  I included two different versions, only changing the sentiment style and ribbon style.  I think I like the lacy ribbon better – it sorta goes with the doilies.  What do you think?

  • Stamp Set: Delicate Doilies, Petite Pairs, Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Ink:  Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum
  • Cardstock:  Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories:  Doily Triple Layer, Scallop Oval, Large Oval, Modern Label and Word Window punches; brads, rhinestones, and ribbon.
