Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Delicate Wings

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop for the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit named Delicate Wings. Here is the kit as intended.

Each month I like to take the contents of the Paper Pumpkin and expand my kit way further than the 9 intended by adding a few extra supplies and plain white cardbases.

For todays alternative card, I wanted to show the value of these kits by using just the stamps from the kit. I used the large butterfly stamp repeatedly on a piece of 4 1/8 x 5 3/8″ piece of cardstock. I used Sahara Sand (retired) as an alternate for Basic Beige (new color) since I have not ordered that cardstock yet. Oh, but it is going in on my next order. I then cut the 3rd largest Scalloped Contour Die with Moody Mauve cardstock. I cut piece of white cardstock to fit in the die, stamped and colored the largest butterfly, and finally stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray ink using a masking (partial) inking to make the sentiment on two separate lines. The supply list will be at the bottom of this post.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Home For The Holidays

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop for the October 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit named Home For The Holidays. Here is the kit as intended.

I really thought this kit was going to be challenging coming up with alternates. In total, I was able to make 34 Cards – 6 different designs. 10 using the envelope, 4 each of each house die cut (12 cards), 8 from one cardbase front, and 4 from another card base that I am showing for the blog hop. If you are interested in seeing all the alternatives I made with this kit, visit my YouTube channel here. https://youtube.com/@RobinsCreations?si=-JLoo-ARZc8jNdqr

My last alternative for this kit uses the cardbase from the kit that has the houses printed on it. I started with a layer of white cardstock (4.25 x 5.5″) and stamped the edges with the snowflake stamp from the kit in Night of Navy Ink. I then ran this piece through the Die Cut & Embossing machine using the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder before adding this layer to a plain white thick white cardbase. Then I cut Night of Navy cardstock with the largest die from the Scalloped Contour Dies. I wanted to use this as a “window.” To make the window, I cut it out the center with the 3rd largest Stitched Rectangle Dies, which are retired. If you do not have these dies, you could use the Deckled Rectangles, cut out the center using your paper trimmer, or not make it “window” style. For reference, the center cutout measures 4 5/16 x 3″. I used the same die to cut a white piece of cardstock. Next, cut the house cardbase to fit just inside the white piece measuring 4 3/16 x 2 7×8″ and adhered it to the white piece. Add the scalloped Night of Navy piece using dimenstionals. Adhere the house layered piece inside the frame. Stamp the sentiment and use the glitter paper banner behind it. I stretched these pieces by cutting each piece into 4 pieces and using the negative pieces as well. Finish off by adding the glitter glue to the rooftops and window sills. Below is a picture of the completed card. The supply list is at the bottom of this post. Keep in mind the stitched rectangles are retired so I added the deckled rectangles which would be a great substitute.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities With Love & Gratitude

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop for the September 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit named With Love & Gratitude. Here is the kit as intended.

I have really enjoyed working with this kit making alternatives. I turned all my alternatives into full size cards. For today’s alternative, I wanted to bring in some other supplies to make an avid card. I like to use all current products or past paper pumpkin kits. I decided on the Season of Chic stamp set and Chic Dies. I love the look of the leaves with the two-step stamping. There are other detailed leaf dies in the die set that are beautiful as well. I love the big die that is used to create the background that is cut from vanilla cardstock (4 x 5.25″). I used the die on the top and bottom and simply put it back in place adhering to a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8″ piece of Mossy Meadow. You don’t have to get it completely adhered down because when you add the leaves it will hold in the background. The leaves are from the various stamps and dies in the Chic set. I stamped the pumpkin from the kit in Pumpkin Pie and the stem in Early Espresso. I then added detail to the pumpkin with the Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker. The sentiment comes from the September 2017 past paper pumpkin stamp set. This set has some of my favorite leaves and I did another alternate with it next.

For my second variation of this design, I was delighted to see the dies Autumn Bouquet Dies (Item #159837) from the Fond of Autumn retired bundle was in the clearance rack for only $16.75. Since these are available (while supplies last), I decided to use the beautiful background stamp. I used the die on the top and the bottom of a very vanilla panel sized 4 x 5.25. I then mounted this to a piece of Mossy Meadow measuring 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.

I wanted a nice Autumn card with fall leaves. I searched through current and past paper pumpkin stamp sets and pulled out the September 2017 Layered Leaves paper pumpkin stamp set. The two leaves from this set are beautiful. I then stamped these leaves in Mossy Meadow, Crusted Curry, and Copper Clay. I used the printed dye cut pumpkins and leaves from the September 2023 kit on this card.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Meaningful Flowers

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop for the August 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit named Meaningful Flowers. Here is the kit as intended.

I love the the colors in this kit. One of the things I like best about Paper Pumpkin kits is it helps me break out new color combinations. I have made so many alternatives with this kit. The one I’m sharing today is for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop. If you missed my other alternatives you can find them here. 1st Set of Alternates, 2nd Set of Alternates, & 3rd Set of Alternates

I have a super simple alternative for you today and another with stepped up for more detail.

For the simple on, I used the cardbase with the lotus meaning on the back, stamps from the kit, and a thick white cardbase. All I did was cut the cardbase in half and cut the solid orchid oasis part to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8″ and adhered to a thick white cardbase. I then trimmed the half with the meaning of the Lotus flower down to 4 x 5.25.” If you want to show more of the orchid oasis you can trim to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.” Then trimming I did all my cuts for the length off the bottom. I trimmed both sides for the width to keep the meaning in the center. I liked the stamped Lotus (stamp included with kit) much better than the die cut so I stamped my own small Lotus and lilypad using the stamps from the kit in Melon Mambo and Pretty Peacock. I stamped the sentiment using Starry Sky directly on the cardfront.

For the one with more detail, I added the Scallop Contour Dies as well as the Basics 3D embossing folder then trimmed just a hair smaller than my cardbase. I ran the solid Orchid Oasis piece through the Die Cut & Emboss machine with the hatch style Basics 3D embossing folder. Then I cut out the other piece with the largest Scallop Contour die. I added the embossed piece flat to a white cardbase and added the one cut with the scallop to the card with dimensionals. I embellished this card with 3 dots using the Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Fun in the Sun

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop for the July 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit named Fun In the Sun. Here is the kit as intended.

I love all the bright colors. These are meant to make fun fold cards. I love the layering elements, however I wanted to show how you can make regular cards.

For the alternates today, I decided to use elements supplied for the middle card with the sunset scene, palm tree and boat. I wanted to create 2 cards with these pieces.

The first card I simply cut out the fun fold pieces using my paper trimmer. Then I trimmed the white border away from the clouds on the piece with the sun and silhouette images. I stamped additional birds in momento black using the stamps from You Are My Anchor Paper Pumpkin kit from April 2018. I also stamped the little boat from that stamp set on scrap paper in momento black and then fussy cut out the boat. I cut a piece from the remainder back piece of the cardbase to go at the top of the clouds. Before adhering the base pieces down, line up the horizon. I found it easiest to tape the two pieces together. Next, I added the palm tree using dimensionals to help hide the line where the 2 pieces come together. I added the little boat using dimensionals. The seashells on the sand are from the Season of Chic stamp set and dies as well as the On My Mind past Paper Pumpkin kit from July 2019. I used the back side of the label for my sentiment and trimmed the right had side flat.

The next card uses the boat and sand pieces. I first used the envelope cut open to add a layer to my white cardbase. I then adhered the sand piece to the bottom of the ocean cutout from the fun fold piece. I used another piece from the card back to add a contrasting sky. The boat piece is trimmed down to fit between the two and added with dimensionals. To help hide one of the score lines I added ribbon and the sentiment on dimensionals. I made seashells using the stamps from before and also a lighthouse from the You Are My Anchor stamp set.

I hope I’ve given you some inspiration to expand your kit. Now follow along the blog hop to see the other creative designs. To follow along click on the Blog Hop Index.

Paper Pumpkin

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Welcome Inn

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog hop for June 2023 featuring alternatives using the Welcome Inn kit. I have had a lot of fun creating with this kit. As I mentioned in my video sharing my second alternative, I save one to share first on the blog hop.

This alternative is very easy. Before making the card as intended, first I cut the cardbase from the kit in half to be able to make more alternatives with one side. Then I took the half piece and trimmed it to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8″ as I will be putting this piece on my own white cardbase made with thick white cardstock. Before I adhered this piece down, I cut out the center using the 2nd largest Countyside Corner die. I then put the card together as the the kit intended but on my own white cardbase.

I took the nice big piece cut out from the cardbase and adhered it to a piece of Calypso Coral cut with the largest Countryside Corner die. I then embossed a piece white cardstock measuring 4 1/8 x 5 3/8″ using the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder. I adhered the embossed piece to a thick white cardbase. I then adhered the Calypso Coral layer on the card using dimensionals. I wanted a different sentiment than those included with the kit and went for the Layering Leaves stamp set. I love this stamp set. Not only does it have some great sentiments, but it has stamps that go with the Bough punch to give your leaves detail. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on a label from the All That dies. These are my favorite go to dies. Before adding the label to the card, I added a piece of Night of Navy ribbon (item #160581) in the middle. If you do not have this ribbon, you could easily used a strip of the Night of Navy cut from the cardbases in the kit.

To add a little more interest, I stamped the flower stamp in Night of Navy Ink coloring the center with Early Espresso ink. I then cut it out with the add on dies that are offered for this kit as well as two leaves cut from Old Olive cardstock. I adhered these to the top right hand corner of the die.

Every card looks better with embellishments, so I colored some rhinestones with the Night of Navy blend marker before adding them to the card.

I plan to make a YouTube video for making this card by Friday the 30th so make sure you are subscribed to my channel
