2nd Set of Alternative Cards Using the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Delicate Wings

Today I’m sharing my 2nd set of alternatives using the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit named Delicate Wings.

If you missed my unboxing of this kit you can find it here: https://youtu.be/iKEdmZziVl8 and my 1st Set of Alternatives here: https://youtu.be/YyPmOnSO4Wo

The best way to see these alternatives is on my YouTube channel. Here is a link to that video.

The full supply list is at the bottom of this post.

For these alternatives, I wanted to use the Lost Lagoon butterfly card base as well as the diagonal speckled card front from the kit. I cut the Lost Lagoon card base in half at the score line and then cut it into 3 strips. Cut 2 of them at 1 3/8″ that leaves the last one about 1.5″ and cut each one to 5.25″ tall. Adhere these strips to a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock measuring 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches. Then adhere this to a thick white cardbase. Create a layer using a border die – finished size 3 x 5.25 inches. I shared a tip on my video of how to get a straight border using border dies. So check that tip out on the video. I used (retired) Sahara Sand as I do not have the new Basic Beige color yet. I think it coordinates pretty well. Stamp splatter on the top 3/4 of this layer using the splatter stamp in the kit using ink the same color as the cardstock. Cut, color, and cut out 4 large butterflies and one half butterfly. Cut 2 of the large butterflies with detail butterfly die from the Thanks & Beyond add on dies. Adhere these to the full butterflies. Bend the detail wings up for added dimension. Stamp the sentiment at the bottom. I used one from the kit in Basic Gray ink. Adhere butterflies then add this layer to the card using dimesionals.

The second card uses the diagonal speckled card front and the large butterfly from the kit. Cut Basic Gray cardstock with the 2nd largest die from the Scalloped Contour dies (retiring) or similar size die. Cut a piece of lost lagoon to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8″ and cut in half diagonally. I share a tip how to do this on my YouTube video. Emboss both pieces with the Painted Posies 3D embossing folder (retiring). Trim the speckled diagonal piece to 4 1/8″ wide. Adhere the speckled piece and Lost Lagoon piece to a thick white cardbase. Add tear & tape or tape runner adhesive in the gap between the two pieces and cover with ribbon. Trim a piece of white cardstock for the sentiment to 2 5/8 x 1 1/8 inches. Stamp the sentiment in Basic Gray ink and adhere to the scallop die cut. Add the large butterfly from the kit to the top of the scallop die using adhesive only on the body (curl the wings if desired before adhering). Add the scallop layer to the card using dimensionals. I added a Brass Brushed Butterfly to the sentiment corner.

1st Alternatives Using April 2024 Paper Pumpkin – Delicate Wings

Hello Everyone. Happy Saturday. Today I am sharing my 1st set of alternatives using the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit named Delicate Wings. Once again, the kit is beautiful and the stamp set is fabulous.

If you missed my unboxing of this kit you can find it here: https://youtu.be/iKEdmZziVl8

For this set of alternatives I used the Basic Gray card base and the envelope flap. The best way to see how I made these cards is on my YouTube Video here: https://youtu.be/YyPmOnSO4Wo

April 2024 Paper Pumpkin 1st Alternatives @RobinsCreatons

To make these alternatives I dry embossed a coordinating piece of cardstock with the Basics 3D embossing folder. For the envelope I used retired Sahara Sand and the card base I used Smoky Slate. When I get my new Basic Beige in, I will try it on the envelope.

To get 3 cards from half of the Basic Gray card base, cut it in half at the score line (4.25″). Cut this piece to 5.25″ tall. Then cut twice at 1 3/8″ and you will be left with one at 1.5 inches. For the envelopes just cut at the score line or just off to avoid fraying and cut from both sides until you end up with it 5.25 inches wide. In my video I did not trim any of the scallop off but in hind sight, I would cut a little of the scallop off.

Attach the cut pieces from above to the embossed cardstock. Then, add ribbon on the right side of the card base and envelope pieces. After adding the ribbon, adhere this piece to a thick white card base. The Moody Mauve ribbon is on the last chance list while supplies last. This color is still current for another year so get it while it lasts at a great price.

Next, cut, color, and cut out a large butterfly and the butterfly in flight. If you have the add on dies for this quarter, there is a die to cut out the large butterfly. Also cut out the 2nd largest die from Radiating Stitches Dies. Stamp a leaf of your choice in Lost Lagoon cardstock, leaving the bottom right hand side for the sentiment. Shown is one from Gorgeously Made Stamp set. I used a sentiment from the kit and did partial inking to break it to two lines (also known as masking). Curl the butterfly wings and adhere at just the body. I then added a small butterfly from the kit for some added color like the ribbon. Add the Radiating Stiches layer with dimensionals to the center of the card. The full supply list is at the bottom of this post.
